“ Nice ambiance, tasty food and attentive wait staff. I had the short ribs and it was super delicious. Aidan was very nice and attentive. Jared showed off his cooking skills with a spicy lollipop chicken. Will definitely visit again. ”
“ SoMa Downtown Grill & Cafe, a charming eatery that specializes in American cuisine with a twist, is located in Phillipsburg, NJ. The address is 62 S. Main Street, hence the name SoMa, which stands for South Main. SoMa's decor is simple yet elegant enough to match the charm of its owner, Carol who cooked the food that we ordered to perfection! I ordered the Bistro Steak, grilled to a perfect medium rare, was smothered with peppers and onions, and glazed with Korean BBQ sauce. I added a baked potato as a side dish and a salad with Ranch dressing as a starter. My lunch date ordered the mouthwatering Mushroom Swiss Burger, which is the latest addition to their impressive menu. Carol's son Eddie, who was our server and also the establishment's bartender extraordinaire, was very pleasant, professional and polite. He made sure that everything was great, from the food and drinks we ordered to the lively music that played as we enjoyed our food. Carol was even nice enough to show us the outdoor bistro in the back, even though it's already closed during the colder months. Their outside dining area, which is large and can accommodate a nice-sized party, has an awesome view of the Delaware river, and the train tracks that ran just outside of their establishment, all for the enjoyment of their customers while they dined in the summer months. All in all, our dining experience at SoMa exceeded our expectations, especially after meeting and talking to the owners of this fine establishment who gave us their personal touch in excellent customer service! Bravo! ”
“ I recently attended a wedding there, and it was truly fantastic. The venue is warm and elegant, and the service was exceptional. The bartenders and wait staff went above and beyond, and the kitchen was incredibly accommodating. We even had a custom signature drink, "The Nuberri", which they served with fresh blueberries and lemon. Added Bonus... The Old Fashioneds were garnished with Luxardo cherries... small details, but they make a big impression on us "Old FashionErs". What stood out most was how attentive the team was, even late into the evening. They stayed as long as we did and never let the quality of service drop. That level of care and commitment is rare... and it made the entire celebration feel seamless and special. ”
“ We had a wonderful evening there last night, dining for 12 with guests from out of state. John was an attentive server and the small plates, salads, and entrees were REALLY good. Sister was impressed with the sea bass (not dry, not mushy- just right), 2 of us each got the half chicken and WOW, is that a good dish! My son loved the duck & risotto, vegan daughter loved her vegan risotto, gluten-free guest couldn’t believe all the GF options on the menu.... Very pretty setting, with live musician in the other room which was nice. & ”
“ Ah man I wish i remembered the server's name. She had some tattoos on. We appeared to be the first customers in for lunch before the 3:30 excursion train nearby. 1. The prices are incredibly fair. For 2 people plus a liberal tip it cost flat 30 dollars. 15 dollars a person for the fantastic quality food is 100% worth it 2. Oh. My. Gawd. The food was TO DIE FOR. You can taste the love and effort put into the food. Fantastic food. 3. The bar/restaurant is absolutely a lovely trendy little place. If you want a date night this is the place to be. Ill be returning in the spring and summer to enjoy the porch. I feel so bad for not knowing the server's name. We went on the 20th of october. Fantastic ”
“ Food was superb. Amazing taste combinations, wine selection and very friendly hostesses and waitstaff. So many menu items looked good, it was hard to choose. We"ll have to go back! ”
“ We make it a habit to come here every year before we go on the local polar express train ride. We love the food and they offer a great variety. I usually get the Ruben but this time I got a really good flatbread with spinach, Bree and balsamic glaze and it was VERY good! I also got the Ruben egg rolls and found out from the server they are made in house from scratch! We also had the chicken cutlet sandwich and the batter was light like fish and chips style. The pub pretzels were hot and soft and were gobbled up. The only complaint was my daughters hit dog was “ok”. She went very fond of it. Other then that we will always come back! ”
“ Very pleasantly surprised! The place is hidden away, not pretentious in the least. The menu is straight forward and priced for value. The food is thoughtfully made without any hint of foolish fancy. The flavors are bold and fresh. The portions are satisfying. The wine list and libations selections are appropriate and accessibly priced. The bartender is clever and the chefs are talented and eager to please. That's very refreshing to see nowadays! I shall return. ”
